FAQs

To make guests’ transition to our centers as smooth as possible— and to ease guest and family concerns— we’ve put together answers to some of our most frequently asked questions (FAQs) for your convenience.

Why Royal Life Centers?

We are a dually-accredited, full-service drug and alcohol detox and treatment facility network. Above all, we commit to treating substance use disorders in the safest, most effective way, from detox to outpatient. We do this by always putting the guest first and by hiring only the most qualified staff, maintaining top-notch facilities, and providing world-class holistic treatment.

What’s holistic treatment?

At Royal Life Centers, we operate on a biopsychosocial/spiritual model, meaning that we collectively treat the mind, body, and spirit. Essentially, holistic treatment is the idea that incorporating multiple modalities of treatment— individual therapy, group counseling, art therapy, and more, for example— is the most effective way of treating mental and/or body disorders.

What is a day in detox like?

A typical day in detox will consist of five groups and three meal breaks per day. You will see a doctor daily, along with medical observation around the clock. We use a method called Q-15, which requires a qualified staff member doing a verified check on each guest every 15 minutes. You can read more about what to expect in detox and view a sample daily schedule here.

Can I smoke while in detox?

Guests may smoke, chew tobacco, or vape in designated outside areas at scheduled times while in detox/residential treatment.

What should I bring with me to detox?

You should limit personal belongings to four to six changes of light, comfortable, and modest clothing (no profanity or drug/alcohol references). We recommend you bring essential items like your wallet and cell phone.

Can Royal Life Centers update me on my loved one’s progress while they are in treatment?

Due to HIPAA laws, we cannot, by law, release any information about our guests unless they have provided us with written consent. Staff performs a “safe call” upon a guest’s arrival to our detox facility, to assure family/loved ones that they have arrived safely. Because we are a closed facility, guests have limited phone access. However, guests are permitted one call a week that is supervised by their therapist.

Can we visit our loved one while in your care?

Royal Life Centers believes our guests should maintain personal focus while in our detox and residential treatment level of care, however, guests are allowed to leave the property during the nine-week program for family visits.

Can we use our cell phones or laptops/iPads?

While in detox or residential treatment Royal Life Center’s goal is to help the guest maintain focus on themselves, therefore personal cell phones, computers and or any electronics with the capability of accessing the internet will be placed safely in our safe until completion of treatment.

Should I bring money?

Guests may bring cash or debit cards to purchase cigarettes at the facility if they would like, food and snacks will be provided by Royal Life Centers.

Can I bring books?

Appropriate books are acceptable as well as art supplies within reason, i.e colored pencils, and small sketchbooks.

How long will I be in the detox program?

Detox length is determined based on a medical assessment on arrival and will be either four or eight days.

What detox medications do you use?

Depending on your medical assessment we offer various tapers in order to assist with your detoxification process. For specific information, please contact our admissions team at (888) 907-0898.

Do you have a psychiatrist on staff?

Royal Life Centers employs licensed addiction therapists. If a guest wishes he or she can make appointments with an outside psychiatrist during our nine-week program.

Will I have my own room?

Royal Life Centers at The Haven, Royal Life Centers at Spokane Heights and Royal Life Centers at Cascade Heights are private rooms. At our other facilities, you may have a roommate depending on the current census.

Is this a lockdown facility?

Royal Life Centers is a private facility and like other private facilities we have an open door policy, therefore your loved one can choose to leave at any time. However, our staff will do everything in their power to convince your loved one to stay and complete their treatment.

Can the staff help me with disability claims?

We have case managers who will help with the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and disability paperwork.

Does Royal Life Centers allow family sessions with our loved one?

While your loved one is in detox or residential treatment our guest’s individual therapist may feel it necessary to get the family involved via conference calls. However, upon request, we can schedule individual family sessions during the nine-week program.

What insurance do you accept?

Royal Life Centers accepts most insurance. You can inquire here to check your eligibility.

I’m not sure if I can afford treatment for myself or my loved one. What should I do?

Because We Care, we do our best to accommodate special financial circumstances and offer to finance. Please give us a call to go over possible payment plan options.
