Sober Living
Following detox and residential, guests choosing to extend their time in treatment can return home or move into our sober living residences. We offer two options for sober living residences — one for guests in aftercare and another for outpatient — to provide a continuation of support for those in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
These optional living arrangements are offered at Cascade Heights, our aftercare and outpatient facility in Mead, Washington. For those in need of additional assistance while transitioning back to their daily lives, our sober living homes are the perfect choice.
What Is Sober Living?
Sober living is an important step in the recovery process, providing individuals with a supportive, safe, and drug-free environment. Sober living residences offer an inviting place for individuals to live while they focus on rebuilding their lives. Residents have access to a wide range of resources and services, such as group and individual therapy, job training, and recreational activities.
Sober housing services are often paired with outpatient levels of care to provide a gradual transition from treatment back into the real world, allowing residents to make a successful return to their daily lives. To do so, these homes provide a supportive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and a sense of community, helping residents stay on track with their recovery goals. For this reason, sober living is the perfect opportunity to develop a strong foundation for a successful, substance-free future.
What to Expect While Staying in a
Sober Living Home?
Our sober living communities assist in re-establishing stability outside of an inpatient facility, building our guest’s confidence in their ability to maintain lasting sobriety. A sense of structure and consistency is key for our guests, which is why we ask guests to create a routine of making their beds daily, keeping their living environment clean, being involved in a community, and balancing work with life.
With access to our sober living staff and recovery resources, we prepare our guests for independence and good decision-making skills during this phase of recovery to set themselves up for a successful life and lasting sobriety. Likewise, these sober homes provide 24/7 access to a built-in strong sober support system.

Royal Life Housing
After completing our inpatient programs, guests who would like to continue with us in our aftercare program most commonly choose to live in our sober living residences on the property. Royal Life Housing is available to guests who are progressing through our aftercare program. We model the responsibility of paying bills and budgeting with low weekly rent for a nice apartment or home that is fully furnished with cable/internet and is accompanied by the safety and security of a sober living staff nearby. Paying rent for sober housing begins after we help you find employment— in phase 2 of the 12-week program.
Guests partaking in the 12-week program will receive food vouchers for groceries. Our sober living facilities feature large living rooms with flat-screen televisions, comfortable bedrooms with televisions in each bedroom, full-size kitchens, on-site washers and dryers, and Wi-Fi throughout. We maintain a sober living staff, available to our guests 24/7 for support. Guests enjoy a sense of accountability with daily curfew checks, random drug testing, and breathalyzers to provide a safe community. We also provide transportation to and from the grocery store regularly, as well as 12-step meetings available four times per day.
Graduate Housing
Guests who complete our 12-week program and get a job are invited to move into Graduate Housing, our outpatient sober living option. Within Royal Life Centers’ Graduate Housing, we continue to provide access to all of our recovery resources in a less restrictive living environment. With that said, we maintain the same sense of accountability, with twice-weekly urinalysis testing for drugs and alcohol. While staying in our sober living option for guests in outpatient treatment, visitors are permitted on the property during the day, and overnight passes are also available.
